Patrolling the garden

Alex woke up to the light entering the window of his house in Hollow Bastion. He rose from bed and began to clean himself up, including taking a shower and brushing his teeth. He strapped on his boots and gauntlets and exited his home. "Let's have a look around." He said as he walked around town greeting vendor and civilians as he did. He quickly disposed of any heartless that dare make their appearance.

A tall man appeared from behind a building.
"Maybe he knows something" He said. He walked out from behind the building and walked towards the boy. As he started to walk, he gained the feeling of being watched. He walked forward and continued, ignoring the feeling.
"Hey!" He yelled. He was now in front of him.

"What do you want?" Alex asked the mysterious man as he approached.

"Have you been getting a strange feeling?" He asked. He looked at him, wondering if he had the same feeling he had just had earlier. "Sorry for being so blunt, my name is Vincent Drache" He said. He held out his hand in a way of a greeting.

"Yes, I have been feeling something. Frankly, I thought it was you but you just confirmed it wasn't. It looks like it's behind you. Prepare yourself." He said, disregarding Vincent's hand and summoning his keyblade.

Vincent turned around to see a man shrouded in darkness.
"Here?" he asked. He looked at the man as he took his hood off. He looked identical to Vincent.
"YOU!" He shouted.
The man laughed a little bit as he snapped his fingers. A large monster walked out of the dark circle that had just appeared. It was a nobody, but it was abnormal in color. It was black and red, like a heartless.
"Now, Vincent, Alexander" The man said. "You will both die here!" He sat down on the end of the building and watched as the monster made his way towards the duo.

Vincent fell backwards, surprised by the monster. He raised himself up as he held out his hands. "Help me, please" He said softly. A bright light surrounded his hands as a keyblade appeared in them.
"A k-keyblade" He said softly. He looked at it as he sliced outward, creating a large cut into the ground.

A crop of snowy white hair popped out from behind the beast, a large metal contraption attached to his arm with a single red rose propped in the mouth of the skull at the top. "Don't you think that was a bit dramatic?" He asked to Nolex, his face remaining impassive as he studdied Alexander and Vincent, his eyebrow raising when he saw the keyblade appear in Vincent's hand. "It seems we might have to fight." He muttered and pulled a long blood red blade from the metal holster on his arm.

Nolex held up his hand.
"For now, lets watch" He said. The monster began to slowly approach the duo as it let out a large loud roar.

Alex was surprised by the sudden appearance by the monster but remained calm. He was, however, even more astonished by the fact that Vincent has a keyblade. "You have a keyblade? Then fight beside me."

Alex swiped his weapon out of the way and charged for his opponent. In his left hand, sparks began to fly. "Thunder!" Lightning crashed down on the nobody.

"o-ok" Vincent said. He took hold of the keyblade as he launched at the monster, who was reacting to the other man.

Nolex laughed softly as he stood up and looked at Onex.
"If the monster gets defeated in a short amount of time, we may actually have to step in and fight" He said. "But, i'd rather not join in, as you're the only one who knows my power and it could destroy this whole place"

Onex nodded as he backed off, slipping the energy blade began to his holster as he crossed his arms and watched as Alex attacked the Nobody with his keyblade Impressive skills... if we got him on our side he could be useful... He looked over at Nolex and nodded a bit as he saw Vincent attack as well. "Hopefully it won't come to that."

Alex grabbed his keyblade with both hands and sliced clean in a diagonal, bottom-to-top motion, severely damaging the nobody. "Vincent! Fight!" Alex yelled as he landed behind the beast. He began to conjure up blue magic in his free hand.

Vincent sighed.
"i'll try" He said. He held the keyblade out in front of him as his body began to glow brightly.
"I'll try using magic" He said. He then jumped up and landed on top of the nobody. The nobody was trying to figure out where he was but seemed to stupid to figure it out.
"FIRE!" He shouted as he jumped. He caled the spell twice, forming a sort of spiral around him as he landed on the nobody again, burning its body.

Onex's eyes widened a little when he saw Vincent cast a fire spell and watched as it burned the Nobody's body. He kept a hand near his holster, waiting to see if they would defeat and he would be forced to fight.

Once the spell was finished charging, Alex shot a beam of blue magic towards the nobody's arm. "Blizzard!" He shouted.

Vincent looked at the Nobody as it started to burn, then the attack from the man who had used blizzard. He landed with a soft touch next to him as he looked at the nobody. The nobody let out a loud roar as its left arm got burned off and its left side of its face froze.


"Onex, lets go" He said. "We can't afford to get caught up with them" He turned around as the doors to darkness opened. "We'll have to keep sending our minions after them till they become strong enough to defeat us" He said. He waited for Onex to come to.

Onex watched for a moment, hesitant to leave, before deciding it was best to follow after Nolex. "Yes, it would be better to leave." He muttered as he calmly walked over to the door and stepped into the swirling darkness.

After landing his Blizzard attack, Alex looked up at the real opponents and saw as they were leaving. "Damn." He said. He grabbed his keyblade and slashed horizontally through the nobody making it disappear.

The nobody disappeared, but before it did, it hit Vincent, sending him flying into a nearby building.

"Damn" Vincent called out as he lay in the rubble of the spot he was in. His keyblade disappeared as he tried to get up.

Alex walked over to his partner. "Are you okay, Vincent?" He offered him his hand.

Vincent grabbed his hand.
"Thanks" He said as he used his help to get up.
"Who were they?" He asked. "That one guy on the building looked just like me"

"I don't know who or what they are. The monster looked like a heartless but didn't feel like one. I'm not sure." He said. "Whoever they were, they aren't here now. Watch your back, though. Since you have a keyblade, the heartless will be coming for you en masse. I need to finish my patrol, though." Alex said as he waved at Vincent while leaving.

Vincent ran up to him.
"I'm going with you" He said. "I have nowhere else to go and if they'll be after me, that goes for you to" He fixed his clothing. "And besides, I have a gummi ship that can get us to other worlds" He said. He pulled out a key that looked like a block and showed it to him. "I woke up one morning and it was in my pocket" He said. He looked down. "But if you don't want me around, I'll go somewhere else"

"My job around here is to protect the people. If you think you wont survive without my constant aid then you are welcome to accompany me." Alex said, turning to his friend.

Vincent nodded his head. He held out his arm in a way for a greeting.
"Shall we form a party then" He asked.
